The January 2012 RARC meeting held at the Heinz Center in room HA-102 was called to order by President
Scott Wright at 6:36 PM with 39 people present.

A list of goals for 2012 was presented to the club.

The new changes to the format of the meetings where reviewed.

The meetings will start at 6:30 PM. and the programs at 7:00PM

The business part of each meeting will be limited in time. Club updates, reports, and information will be
posted on the RARC web site for review by its members before each meeting. This is to educate the
membership on these topics before the meetings, for discussion and voting at each meeting.

The treasurer's report was made.

Minutes of the December meeting where approved.

Programs for 2012 where listed, some months have openings. If you have ideas contact the club officers.

Committee's have been formed and are listed on the RARC web site.
  • Field day committee reported the portable mast’s are on order.  Field day will be at Game Haven  boy scout camp for 2012. It will be  a3A set up.
  • Technical committee reported the 146.820 repeater is on battery power. A 50 amp rack mounted power supply is on order and will be installed soon.  All other repeaters OK
  • Public Service committee states the Frozen Goose run will need radio operators from 12:00 to
    3:00 on February 4th. Contact John Scott to sign up.
  • Contest committee reminder. The VHF contest is happening on January 21,22,and 23rd.  The Minnesota QSO party for HF and/or VHF will be on February 4th from 8AM to 6PM.

RARC/ARES nets on Sundays at 9:00 PM on the 146.820 repeater PL tone 100 for current information.

The program on the deep water search expedition for Amelia Earhart’s  plane was presented by Tom Vinson,  NY0V.
