Minutes for the October 9, 2012 The RARC meeting was called to order a 6:41 PM with 22 members present. There was a roll call of the members and guest. Treasurers report was read. June, July, & September's meeting minutes where approved. The following committee's reported: Technical: Dates will be set to install the repeater into a new rack cabinet. The phone link has been removed. DX: There is a ARRL, CW and SSB sweepstakes Oct 26th . There will be a triple event in November. See the ARRL, DX information for details. VHF: Mel-- KC0P passed around a sign-up sheet for the January VHF contest. He plans to have a pre event meeting. The contest takes place January 19th and 20th. More information to come. The club has a deficit of $200 to $300 dollars. The club will be reviewing ways to balance the budget for 2013. Bring your ideas to future club meetings Scott - K0MD was officially accepted the Minnesota Field Day Cup for 2012 by Mike Sigelman & K0BUD. This cup represents the most event points, of all the Minnesota field day stations. There was a review of our field day activities and what we did to win the Minnesota Cup. K1KD did a great job There is a survey on the RARC web site for member to respond to questions, and to make comments. Please take time to complete the surveys and get involved to help the club be resourceful for you. The time for nominations of 2013 officers for the RARC is coming soon. Think about giving your time and talents to support the RARC and its members. See John Scott for information. KAAL news did not show up for their commendation, for their reporting of the RARC 2012 Field Day event. Scott will be contacting them to make other arrangements to present the plaque. On the last Friday of each month there is a diner at the American Legion in Rochester for anyone that has a ham license and their families. This is a buffet fish and rib meal (you can have both) with beverage and desert for $10.00. It is on Civic Center Drive and starts at 5:00 PM. Come hungry. The RARC Christmas party is set for December 11th at Whistle Binkies on the Lake (south). The meeting ended at 7:36 PM.
