Amateur Radio Classes

The Rochester Amateur Radio Club offers amateur radio classes for individuals interested in obtaining the entry Technician license and the more advanced General license.

Technician Ham Radio Class

The RARC technician ham radio  class covers all topics needed to pass the entry level Technician written Element 2 examination. Knowledge of Morse Code is NOT required for any Amateur Radio license now. The class uses the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual publication as a study guide plus a set of Powerpoint charts and materials specifically developed for the class.

Students should purchase the class textbook, The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual, before attending the class. The book can be obtained from a number of sources including the ARRL web site, Barnes and Noble, or Amazon.com.

The class fee is $25. The fee also includes copies of the presentation and review materials. A CDROM of the lecture materials is also provided. The class fee will be collected at the start of class.
