Amateur Radio ClassesThe Rochester Amateur Radio Club offers amateur radio classes
for
individuals interested in obtaining the entry Technician license and
the more advanced General license.
The RARC technician ham radio class covers all topics needed to pass the entry level Technician written Element 2 examination. Knowledge of Morse Code is NOT required for any Amateur Radio license now. The class uses the ARRL Ham Radio License Manual publication as a study guide plus a set of Powerpoint charts and materials specifically developed for the class. Students should purchase the class textbook, The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual, before attending the class. The book can be obtained from a number of sources including the ARRL web site, Barnes and Noble, or Amazon.com. The class fee is $25. The fee also includes copies of the
presentation and review materials. A CDROM of the lecture materials is
also provided. The class fee will be collected at the start of class. 2016 Planned Classes:
General Classes - 3/12, 19, 26 - These dates are somewhat flexible if students need to work
around other things.
