RARC November 2006 Meeting Rewind

The November monthly club meeting was held on Tuesday, Novemmber 14, 2006, at the American Red Cross building in southeast Rochester. Several months ago, I was asked by my predecessor to help create an amateur radio film discussing my experiences when starting out in the amateur radio service. This month, I presented a film to RARC that did just that. ... But there was more. The film continued to focus on other topics such as optimization of time, project prioritization and planning, kit building, places to buy equipment and where to find help with projects. I spent a lot of time trying to put pieces together that addressed the needs of a diverse group with varying levels of expertise and talents. I have always been fascinated with technology and communications indiscriminately, and ham radio is one particular transport medium for this interest - so not only am I interested in helping to educate, but it is in my own best interest to do so.
